The Finnish Ice Hockey Association announced that forward Erik Haula will join the Finnish national team on Thursday at the World Championship in Minsk.

For Haula it will be the first tournament with the men’s national team after having competed in one U20 and two U18 World Championships.

The 23-year-old Pori native comes from his rookie season in the National Hockey League. He played 46 games for the Minnesota Wild in the regular season scoring six goals and having nine points. He appeared in 13 playoff games where he notched seven points (4+3).
