Bartschi, Loktionov, Polak to travel home

Swiss forward Sven Bartschi suffered a fractured rib in his first-ever IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship game and will be out for several weeks.
The Abbotsford Heat player got injured in the third period of the opening game against Russia. He will not be able to play anymore in the Worlds and will be replaced by Benjamin Pluss of Fribourg-Gotteron, who was registered today prior to the evening game against the U.S.
Russia lost forward Andrei Loktionov in the same game, who will be out for several weeks and travelled to Moscow today. His shoulder injury will be examined by a specialist.
Czech defenceman Roman Polak of the St. Louis Blues also suffered a shoulder injury in the second period of the game against Slovakia and will not be able to continue playing in the 2014 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. He will travel to the Czech Republic tomorrow.
